For Most of My Bikeing Life I have always Worn a Open Faced Helmet & Fitted a Tri Screen to My Bikes...
Q: Why? I am often asked do I (Spoil) Fit a Screen to your Bike?..
A: So I do not spoil the taste of my My beer , I reply !

Rain in the Mouth ain't Bad But a Jasper (A Big Bug) you can taste the Grass........

And I would Love to Know what them (Bullets) Insects are That Hit your Helmet enough to let off a Crack and shift your Head... Kamikaze Bug's

The black ones that are about now in huge numbers are Mayflies. The big ones that feel like a stone hitting your crash helmet, particularly in the evening, are most likely Cockchafers, aka Maybugs.
