I need to be fitting winged tank badges to a standard tank. I have managed to obtain a pair of original reditch badges but unfortunately they were flattened out before posting to me, so I need to re-shape them to the tank.
I have put the horizontal curve in OK on one of them, but there are large gaps (about 1/4 inch) top and bottom, should there be a vertical curve as well?
I am worried about damaging them, is there a 'safe' way to re-introduce the curves?
If anyone could post a close up picture of correctly fitted badges on a '53 Bullet I would really appreciate it.

Thanks Scalyback, the photo's are very informative, it looks like I will have to be putting in a verical curve to the badges. I think if I use an old tank to mould them round that might work.

I am off to look through that thread next.....

I just checked my 1953 500 Bullet and the badges are curved in both planes. The fit to the tank should be pretty good. I seem to remember when I rebuilt it that I had to slightly bend the badges to fit but I don't remember how, sorry! REgards, Mark

Oh!, Umm!, Ah! Maybe paint it green to match the tank with the words ROYAL ENFIELD in gold? I did want an olive green army bike, but I love the gold pinstriping on Tornado, so have to manage halfway!

(Now who hasn't asked me what I want for Xmas yet???)
