Scaly's Ebay definitions dictionary

Hopefully, this post will help to explain some of those "mystical" terms that appear on some ebay auctions.

"In good condition for it's age." - For a fifty year old item, the seller thinks you should expect fifty years of dirt and wear as normal. An item is EITHER in good condition, OR it is not in good condition.

"Barn find" + "Found in Granny's attic" - A most convenient way to fool a bidder that an item is a genuine antique, when it is in fact, generally under 20 years of age or a reproduction.

"Rare" + "Extremely rare" + "Unique" - These terms mean that there are usually many more of these on ebay, but you are looking at the most expensive one. Just do a search and bid on one that is a tenth of the price.

"Not tested" - This item is typically broken and most probably does not work.

"For spares and repair only" - Half of the parts are missing, including all of those parts that are either very expensive or just impossible to obtain.
