Thought you might be interested in this bike. It was built by my mate Steve Lee, and if memory serves it is based on a Reditch Bullet engine in a Crusader frame with Kawasaki trail or endure forks.

I believe he added the bracing tubes from the rear downtubes to the seat tube to strengthen the frame.

The engine is a 350 converted to 500, I bored out the cases for him at work. It was built some years ago, probably around the `80`s.

This is a view from the other side. ( Actual, not spiritual, though I don`t know if it is still with us! Steve emigrated to South Africa years ago, though he did pop up on this forum once, again, years ago. )
You still out there Steve?

I suspect that front mudguard didn't last long. No stays by the look of it and a bit close to the tyre.

That's if he actually went off road of course.

Heard you first time, Pete! So I tale it you don't like it then. Actualy he had only just finished it when I took the pics. I thought it was a brilliant effort considering he built it in his dad's garage!

No, I didn't say that. It's a nice looking bike but from my own experience off road, that front mudguard wouldn't last long. As for the duplicate post, it seems to happen a lot on this site.

Well, that IS a nice-looking bit 'o kit !! -------- I'm guessing that both mudguards are plastic ??although PETE F's comments about needing some form of staying are still valid I'd say ( PETE must have a "thing" about red bikes as it was him I bought that RED Honda CG125 from recently-----LoL !!)....Personally I'd have left it as a 350, this being a much more "balanced" engine overall than the 500.....but each to their own, eh ??.....How's it handle ?...Do you use it much ??

Hi Alan R,I'm in the process of finishing off something similar myself, A '55 magneto 350 engined traily job, - mines orange and silver. I've done away with the stays altogether and mounted the mudguard to the underside of the lower yoke. I've also kept the lights on mine...

AlanR, I don't think you read the post properly, it isn't my bike, a friend built it years ago and then he went to live in South Africa! I never rode it.
