What is the mystery component?

Inside the right hand toolbox of my '89 350 are the ignition switch and a mystery electrical component, a small box to which three wires are connected. Anyone know what it is?

Guessing at what the wire colours may be John, perhaps a flasher unit for the indicators..
3-wires, black, blue and yellow/red.. Any more detail?
