French report 2 - Pregna-scoots and electric bikes
This Special report from Paris kicks off with the subject of Electric vehicles. Again, Paris has already invested in fleets of them which can be hired, driven around and left at the nearest convenient charging points.
Here are the bays for parking electric vehicles, BUT WAIT...

Of course! It's where you park your electric bike for a top up!
Paris is desperate to get rid of it's traffic problems. They have a very novel but sensible way to do this. Car parking costs money and it is hard to find a space, but cycle, moped and motorcycle parking is free and you can park just about anywhere...
There are several bays like this in just about every street, and sometimes there are dozens of them down a long street, but even if they are full, there is no problem as the Paris police will only ticket a bike if it is causing a serious obstruction.
This means you can park you bike just about anywhere...
Road full? Use the pavement. ALWAYS use the pavement.
