Hi Scalyback, can't help noticing your prowess on the IT front and wondered if you would be able to help a technodunce like yours truly. I've got some of my bike related witterings saved on Drive (from my tablet). Any idea how to get them direct to this forum? Afraid I'm just emerging from the dark age of pen and ink,and not too clever with computers etc.
Any help greatly appreciated.
Wilf.

Hi Wilf

If you just want text with paragraphs, then it is best to open a text editor (notepad) or textedit or similar.

This board does not keep formatting and you have to add it in for new lines and paragraphs, otherwise your text comes out as a single 'block'! Bit of a pain, but not complicated.

I'm adding the 'br's' as I call them as I type this.

they don't show up on the forum, but are giving me the double line spacing. See the picture below. a single 'br' gives a new line, a double 'br''br' a new paragraph.A series of them give several new lines (here we go...)

I'ts a bit of a pain, but when you alter the text as below, then copy and paste into the forum, and when you read it, the codes are gone, but your text has paragraphs! YAY!

For a title, use the same angle brackets as for the 'br's, but exchange the br for h1 inside, before the title text and then /h1 after the title text. See below...

Tornado's day out.

hope that worked, I usually use an html app. (taco) to check, but am rushing out this morning, so typed blind into Mr. H's input box!

Thanks for taking the time to reply.I was rather hoping for something along the lines of "Press the big red button labeled transfer witterings to Hitchcocks forum". But I guess that would be too easy. I'll see if I can cross reference your info with the relevant chapter in Tablets for seniors.
All the best, Wilf.
