My Brother was camping up in Matlock for a Paragliding competition so I decided to go up and join him for the night. 3 hours later (just on 'A' roads) on the Electra and I was there - spent another hour riding round Matlock and the surrounding hills because the roads were ace and scenery stunning!! This is the longest I've ridden the Electra for. Didn't miss a beat. Performed brilliantly. Couldn't believe it. I feel I've just treated a spare coil, spark plug, inner tube and part of my toolbox to a mini holiday!!

That must have been brilliant!
I don't usually go far on mine, but I am starting to think it would be good to do my first epic journey.
need to go quite some distance to get Thunderbolt serviced, unless I do it myself.

About 3 week's ago I was told by the other half, why don't you take the Enfield away for a couple of days. Well who was I to argue,so I got it loaded up with camping gear and off I went. Left home and headed for Takoda camping at Kirkby Stephen. Got about 15 miles from home and the rain started so on with the waterproof gear. Headed to Carlisle and a lunch stop then down the old A6 then the rain turned to monsoon conditions but the bike just plodded on. The next day we set off for Aysgarth and it was so hot a sauna would have been cooler.I went out for a run and ended up following part of the tour de france route, on one of the climbs I was down to second gear. The next day was a 140 mile ride home in cooler weather passing by Tan hill . Total mileage was approx 300 miles and I enjoyed every one of then even during the torrential rain. Fuel consumption for the trip was 91 mpg and even my backside didnt get too painful and would I do it again, you betI will

It was great. But I need to sort the seat and a luggage carrier - My rucksack interfered with the luggage on the back of the seat and pushed me a bit more forward than I would of liked. Need a single seat and a luggage carrier. I was pleasantly surprised how good the bike performed on the journey. Look forward now to a longer trip!!

Other than a luggage rack -
http://www.hitchcocksmotorcycles.com/ac ... me-luggage - nothing extra is necessary.

- The lump on the pillion is a winter weight sleeping bag so very necessary at a very chilly 2013 John Bull Rally. Similar heading to a Northumberland camp early spring last year -

- In summertime a lighter sleeping bag gets lost in the yellow dribag or one of the saddlebags
