Many thanks to mark for a great weekend. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Sadly the meteor didnt make it home, the crankcase bearing gave out and took the oil seal with it. So its back to the drawing drawing board...... cheers all ed

Ed, that's a shame. Call me if you need help during the rebuild. Could be a chance to do those crankcase mods we were talking about! For anyone else reading this, it was a great weekend, present were 6 twins(from 55 Meteor to 66 Inter,) 1 Crusader, 7 Indian Bullets, 1 Triumph Bonnie (modern,) and a Trident. Only breakdown on the run? The Trident broke a clutch cable, easily fixed! REgards, Mark

Thanks mark you may live to regret that sentence...... it looks like the scavenge pump has packed up as well. The crankcase is full of oil. Can i use hitchcocks high flow return pump with the original feed pump or is best to use standard pumps. Ed

If you fix the original problem you won't need a bigger scavenge pump as it's already rated at least twice as much as the feed. I'd bet that it has become obstructed somewhere by silicone gasket cement which is why we don't use it on crankcase joints! REgards, Mark
