When are the REOC going to allow people to apply for membership in a safe online environment, having worked in the card industry for some years now I guess I am aware more than most of the REOC's ridiculous method of requesting payment, asking someone to write name, address, credit card details including card security code onto a piece of paper and then popping it in the post is horrendous, any self respecting fraudster would think it was Christmas finding this envelope, come on REOC get with the times and take payment online.

That is why I still have a cheque book as well as the card, I send a cheque rather than give all my card details in a single letter in the post when possable

Could you send two separate envelopes, one with the number and the other with the code?

I think this question came up in the Club a while back and the answer was it's too expensive to become a "merchant". Plus of course, they take a fee for processing it? The REOC is not a big Club after all.

But they would get more members if they supplied a realistic way of taking your money, even if they up the cost by a few pence to cover thier fees im sure people would pay.

You can pay by Postal Order. I don't see the problem, if you want to join there are plenty of ways, you could even phone the poor old Membership Secs up!
