A truly delightful day

get Tornado into the sun, warm engine a little, clean down and apply army paint.

Check all round and give newly leaking oil filter cover a hard look. Loosen, rotate and retighten oil filter cover.

Off we go! firstly a trip to the cafe for food, then off to Knockholt for a greenlane ride down a short byway. Tornado seemed to handle that quite well.

Quick stop to check still leaking cover, loosen, rotate, retighten.

Set off towards Dunton Green, Quick stop off to visit a few old brit bikes (And the guy that owns them!) Tornado is running very well. Check oil leaks, seems to be just seeping a little now.

Continue towards Otford, then on to the Pilgrim's Way, through Kemsing and onward to Heaverham where the pilgrims way turns into a byway for some distance.

Point Tornado down the byway, and have an enjoyable time, greenlaning on a heavy army Royal Enfield with road tyres. The surface is well maintained, and we hit 20 MPH in some parts.

The byway is interrupted by a crossing with Exedown Road, but continues the other side. By now, Tornado and I are in pure bliss. I take a moment to think of 'Sven' or 'Svengarlie', who's youtube channel (onelungwarrior) introduced me and many others to the joys of byways. Unfortunately, he is no longer with us (dead).

The byway turns back into a regular road at Wrotham (Pronounced route-am) and we revert to normal country lane riding as I head for Ightham (I-tam)

We head for Shipbourne, then Hildenborough Road to Hildenborough. We then motor blissfully towards leigh (Lye) where Tornado coughs at me , wanting more fuel. With the switch set to reserve, we head off to the shell station, where Tornado gets a well earned tank of Vmax 100.

I check Tornado over, the oil leak seems to be virtually sorted. I carefully put Tornado away, ready for tomorrow and aslo the all important trip to East Grinstead to see stationary engines on monday). I take a last glance and wish Tornado goodnight whilst feeling very proud to have such a nice motorcycle. Still feeling a marvellous glow, I go inside for afternoon tea!
