Any mineral motorcycle oil will be fine. Particularly, don`t use semi or full synthetic if running-in a new engine or new parts in it; they have friction modifiers which make them more slippery so it will take ages to run-in new parts. New vehicles which recommend synthetic are usually run-in at the factory to avoid this problem. So you can drive them at normal speed from the showroom.

Lean burn engines run hotter, synthetic oils can handle this heat better,20/50 mineral oil is a no no. Make sure you use motorcycle oil and not car oil.

Jaffa and Leon, I thought the main difference with a motorcycle oil was that they are formulated to deal with a wet clutch.
As this is not the case here why would not a car oil do the job?
There didn't use to be such a thing and we managed well enough.

Your right PeteF, bike oil only is for wet clutches.

Motorcycle oils have full zinc protection, unlike automobile oils which have less because zinc damages the catalytic converters. It is compensated for by using more expensive synthetic oils.

Interesting link but it was written by an oil manufacturer.
Oh dear, my cynical side seems to be showing again.
