I don't imagine that they would make it illegal, as showing either a current (untill oct 2014) or historic one could not be considered as a way to defraud them.

My guess is that all they will do is remove the need to display one, leaving you to put whatever you like in the old disc holder or remove it!

theybetter do, GRRR!

I can't see how (or why) they would make it illegal. Once it stops being a legal document it's just a bit of paper.

Alan & Scaly, the Flash & a Box had for years TWO tax discs on display ... One current, the other 1967 from the last time it was on the road before we got it.

Also a good place to display a Royal Enfield Owners Club decal. Personally, I will just be pleased to get rid of the damn thing.

Exile we need that out here as well because we don't get a label either from the beginning of this year.Once they developed the technology to identify vehicle number plates to see if it was registered they figure they can save the money by not making stickers. Where there is a major problem is if you are working for a company and the boss says " jump in the truck and go and get something" do you have to ask him to prove that the vehicle is registered, because you can't tell, and as the driver you are responsible, have an accident and see how you get on

I'll miss the tax disc when it's gone. Don't know why though. Bikes never came with a dedicated place to put them, so the holder was bolted somewhere and made the bike look untidy. I've a heap of old discs from vehicles I've had in the past. I'll probably 'photoshop' new discs in the future. Well. It can't be an offense to fake something that no longer exists.
