Following on from Scalyback's posting lower down the board does anyone know what happened to the Dreamliner fairing?
I quite like the look of it and have been looking for a "dustbin" type fairing for my Matchless G15.
Enfield's Sportsflow fairing was also a good looking accessory in my view and much more pleasing to the eye than the Airflow but very difficult to find now. I did advertise for one in "the Gun" some years ago for my 500 Bullet but drew a blank.

There was an article in The Gun magazine about this some time back. If I remember the bike still exists in an unrestored state but where it is now I don't know. The original machine (made in association with one of the bike magazines of the day) was an early 350 Bullet but there seems to have been a second machine based on a 500 Twin which seems a much better bet. This bike was regularly (?) seem at the TT in the late 50s so there was clearly some continuing interest at the Factory. Also, as far as I know, the Sportsflow (sand Speedflow) fairings were only produced in the smaller size for the 250s. The standard Airflow fairings were actually available in 3 sizes for 350cc and up, 250s and a tiddler size for the 150cc Prince. Hitchcocks do a repro of the large size and it's essential mudguard.

I am very pleased to say that I am the new custodian of the Dreamliner Fairing and Bullet motorcycle. The Fairing was designed by the legendary Technical Artist Lawrence Watts and I shall be restoring it as a tribute to his work. See my letter in this months Real Classic magazine.

Doctor Beaker! The Dreamliner looks a bit like Supercar on two wheels...

I will be very interested to see the restoration, it was a brave idea by Enfield even if the bike they offered to the project was a rather tired 350 Bullet! There was another fully faired bike built with more modern styling and based on a 500cc Meteor Minor twin, does anyone know what happened to that? REgards, mark
