James May is going to build a full size working bike from Mechano, BBC2 9pm tonight, should be interesting

Not a very well made program in my opinion. I liked the IOM TT backdrop but I can't see the point of that bike really. May have been better to ditch Captain Slow and his alcoholic side-kick and use Guy Martin instead, then power the bike with rockets!

Very disappointing and not really a motorcycle at all. Ultimately powered by a golf buggy motor and new batteries every few miles it was all pointless really. Although I did n't expect a meccano engine I thought maybe an old Honda 50 motor or similar might be used, at least something that might power a bike, not an battery electric joke that had to be pushed up hill.

Ha,ha, just watched this on I-player. I thought it was great to see them complete this high speed circuit at the slowest speed imaginable. Great mechano engineering.

Ah, but just think how different things might have been if the British Army had been given access to meccano rifles and equiptment during the second world war!
