Quote from quite a long article in May Classic Bike: "....sources very close to the factory confirmed to me the long-held Royal Enfield rumour. A twin-cylindeer model.... is nearing finalisation and the firm hope to release it before the end of 2015. A V-twin was.... discounted after rear-cylinder overheating problems, so the format is to be the same as Redditch Meteor/ Constellation- two350s in parallel." We will see....

----------------"By the twiddling of my thumbs, something twin-like this way comes ???? ".............. If the Carberry can do it, why can't the factory ?? (http://www.carberryenfield.com.au/FAQ.html )--------- God knows there's enough different make, in-line V-Twins knocking about for them to get it right..If it's on 2 seperate carbs then traditionally the rear carb will be jetted a tad rich on main..BUT, if it's true then MARK M and NORM will be raiding their piggy banks soon, I would surmise ??

Hi Alan, not for me, I will never buy another bike less than 25 years old, because we now have a registration system here where we can club reg a 25+ year old bike for about $70 but a bike on full reg costs heading to $700. Anybody want to buy a crosbred Electra thingy.Think it will probably just get pushed to the back of the shed which is a pity because it runs so well now

Alan, well thanks for thinking I might need another bike (like I need an extra head!!!) Yet again this silly rumour has surfaced, (I haven't read the article by the way,) note "sources close to the factory" claim, that's probably the Chennai equivalent of the pub bore who starts off with "I used to have one of them... fired every tenth lamppost, 200 miles an hour, was a Factory prototype, blah, blah"! Realistically; the Factory themselves said recently a twin was not imminent, they are flat out with domestic Bullet production, they can't sell the new bikes for much needed Dollars and Pounds in the wealthy western markets (because they are odd looking and over priced,) and that market is already saturated with cheap reliable parallel twins (Triumphs and Kawasakis). Ain't going to happen. (I'll be the one at The Super Sausage sprinkling salt on my hat...)
REgards, Mark

Although welcome, it will have to compete with the Kawasaki W800 and Triumph. I am still toying with the naughty idea of getting an older W650 (carbs) and debadging, with a repaint in the RE black/chrome livery which I adore!

They seem to hold their price too i fancy, quite expensive.
