After buying my 2003 trails bullet Friday from haywards I had the most enjoyable ride home. The beat from the engine was music to my ears as I made the 30 mile ride home and did not miss a beat. I got up early Saturday morning excited about a morning ride and a big fry up at the silver ball.i kicked her over and she roared into life , I got my gloves and helmet ready while she ticked over then she died. I tried to kick her over but no joy. By this time I thought I bet I've flooded her. De compress and gentle kicks to dry the plug. A cup of tea numerous passers by asking about the bike when all I wanted to do was get out on the counrptry roads I tried to kick her over but no joy. Took the plug out gave it a wipe , tried again but still no joy. I scratched my head another cup of tea more passes by questions , then it dawned on me , after a hour of thinking looking and more scratching the ole head . PETROL tap was OFF , I just love being back in the world of Bullet ownership after 3 years away from them.

So had I! I bought a 350 last October and have been doing various things to it over the months since, rebore, general servicing and MOT needs, and lots of polishing, this thing appears to have been parked in the sea. Looking a lot better now , but cold starting is problematic, especially as I have a weak leg from a bike accident 28 yrs ago.

Anyway, I took a first wobble around the block, getting ready to take it for MOT due at the end of March; pretty alarming at first to be honest, all corners seemed to be shaped like those old threepenny bits ,and I was too wimpy to lean the bike, but I got home safe and shaking.

By the time I had had two further (short) rides in glorious sunshine, plus one to a successful MOT test, ( no advisories -Yippee!)before the weather closed in again, the old grin was back, the bug had really bitten again - I do hope we have a good spring soon, followed by something we can call a summer; I'll be out there, along the country lanes -
"Off we go , into the wild blue yonder, off we go, diddle de dee"

all the best everybody
Dave

First ride on my 'new' 2008 Bullet 350 Trials today (Sunday). Only around 15 miles west along the coast from Worthing and back in the afternoon sunshine but it was heaven! Lots of missed gears and false neutrals (I thought I'd mastered the Albion 'box with previous Bullets but no, it's a learning process all over again) and a few hairy moments at junctions and roundabouts but all in all, a joyous ride with plenty of envious (pitying?) glances from onlookers as I thumped along to the lovely beat of the 350 (previous Bullets were all 500). Can't wait to get out again!
