No discussion required there mate. Tell them to f*** right off and go elsewhere.
I have n't had to buy insurance for a few months but comp.cover for both my 2007 RE 500 classic(now sold)and a 1963 Tiger 90 cost me 70 odd squids from Bennetts. And I thought that was too much.

Alan I have just re-read your original posting. I should pay more attention to the detail. I suspect that your problem is age related. The bikes, not you. They are all moderns.....not classics which are much cheaper. Then there is a post code issue. My Model 50 (1958), A65 Thunderbolt (1967) and Fastback Commando (1972) cost £81.92 Fully Comp. My 2011 Hinckley Thruxton cost me £109.30 Fully Comp. CN quoted £183.00 for the Fruxton!!!!! Same price as yours really. Tim Young persons car insurance is hellishly expensive. My daughter started drivin 13 years ago and an old Renault 5 used to cot about 3750. However 13 years on and she now sees the benefit of insuring in her name. She has a 10 month old Focus ST3, the bright orange one, and she has recently paid £410 Fully Comp for her 155mph rocket ship.

Just get on the phone and (gently) complain and ask them to look at it again. In my experiance they will suddenly find another quote.

Hi guys-------- PETE F, yes-- did that. They were quite adamant this was their "best quote, sir" and was repeated several times..In effect he had backed himself into a corner.. Last night I went on-line and looked at Carol Nash and Bennets.... This morning I rang them both and CAROLE NASH gave a better cover over all for------ £190 !! a saving of £70 approx.... So I've taken out 1 year with them------until the next time !!!---------- Thanks guys for your responses..Auld FARTY-BAGS rides again !!!!!

Durham Tim, £2000 for a ford ka?!!
My daughter passed her test 8 weeks after her 17th birthday at the end of 2011, comp. insurance for her ford ka was a shade over £600 with diamond.
She recently renewed for less than £500 + 1 year no claims with admiral (sister company of diamond).

I suspect the we here in devon have just about the cheapest insurance in England to balance out the highest water charges and lowest wages in the country and as payback for all the grockles blocking our roads in the summer so we can't go out and drive!
