Hello GRUNDA aka Paul---------- I've ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA just what this "Hijack" thing is, so I asked my mate--- he's the one with a foreshortened leg ( from the Harringay speedway accident in 1978 ), and he said he didn't know BUT it reminded him of a holiday he and the wife took cruising the Far East in late 1990, when their Fred Olsen liner had an engine fire--- it was the oil burners that hadn't been modified with anti-swirl baffle plates and as a result they sometimes had a back-fire and the incoming fuel line would burst and catch fire...So there it was drifting with no power in the South China Sea (just before the Monsoon period, thankfully,) when several small, heavily armed boats appeared on the horizon----and went straight past them !! Turns out they were Govnmt. Patrol boats trying to prevent a Hijack (Whatever that is ??)...My missus says that the local kids hijack (?) our buses after 3pm on their way home from school, what with all their noise, cheek and short skirts--and that's just the Teachers,OMG !! Then I put a thread on a forum to TOM, DIK an DARRY and between us we took up about 4 pages of intellectual discussion but finally realised we hadn't reached an answer worth posting so let it go in the end...I've even asked an Airline pilot---who got quite jittery at the very mention of the word, can't think why ??--- and a Police Security Officer at MI5 H/Q in London---you know, on the Thames frontage ---- which is why I'm having to cut this reply short because they want to, how did he put it ??--- oh yes }---- " Help them with their enquiries" --apparently about my connections with any Hijackers at all----- so I've given him YOUR name, OK ??? Bye for now------------

Well all I can say is that this high flying talk of Cruises, South China Seas, International Security and the like has this country boy shuffling his feet in deference to his betters. So, can I start a Low Jack thread? REgards, Mark. (I know my place.)

Paul, in your first thread it sounds like you're going to shovel all the snow from Lands End to John o Groats... That's very kind of you.

Watched a bloke riding a BMW 1150gs with jacket and trousers that matched the colours of the bike, black and grey, he cruised round and round Southend for hours, with such a big and fast bike I thought he might have spread his wing mirrors a bit further afield, unless it was Charlie Boarman making a travel program about circumnavigating South Essex...

Hello JOHN R--------- agreed, it USED to be but due to H.M.Govmnt's. fiscal frugalities in deference to their election winning, and continuously quoted bi-lateral aim of both reducing HighJaking (Whatever that is) whilst employing ruthless (She had to leave---- Ruth, I mean) cost-cutting efficiencies within a commercially adept world, the much-vaunted amalgamation of two previously staunchly seperatist agencies within said H.M.Govmnt. had to be seamlessly achieved within a minimalistic overarching time-frame structure previously agreed to by a series of seasonally-driven Sub-committees (Inclusive of clause 3c/1a).. Also, without menace aforethought and mindful of the public's access to the "Freedom of information" act---- (ammendment 5, extract DA/1)..it was thus seen that an applicable title ( and by nature of the lesser No.---ie 5 )and therefore a cheaper title, would be applicable in the first inst....... Hence MI5 it became... Extracts of the costings for this in-house research may be obtained on }--- www.HMGov.co.uk/fiscalhijaking/sawyoucoming
