hi one and all this is just a small anouncement !!!(a fanfare of trumpets!!!)the electra now starts 1st kick by tickling the carb setting the air slide to on then kick !hey presto running air slide off nice tickover must say i,m pretty impressed with the concentric although i,m sure that it hasn,t got the hard annodised slide (not too sure about stay up float )and all the other new goodies maybe mr h is selling some old stock?i also notice from AMAL,S ad in the CBG that the said concentric carb has 2 years warranty so at least i can sleep at night !!!laugh out loud anyway less of this festive prattle off to see the new born, no not the baby jesus!!baby nancy the new christmas grandaughter!!atb paul.

My recently acquired 535 lightning starts first time by covering the conical freeflow air filter with a conical hood with a little hole in it,so put that in your pipe and smoke it.That`s the old old fashion way of a choke.

Yes, Electra starting. Well with their electronic ignitions - precise timing and fat spark they mostly are good starters. Your Concentric must be well set-up because mostly the only reasons Electras don't start is incorrect fueling or plug problems.
I run an NGK Iridium in mine Paul - significantly improves running. If you tried one in yours would it start all by itself?
You must have a hell of a kick on you though mate - with no pushrod lifter on your bike!!!

hi jaffa ,how did you know i,ve got a pipe ? someone bought me 1 for christmas although being a tight yorkshire man i,ll stick to my small bowled popeye pipe!!i must say i like the sound of the lightening starting method!hi stu,yes the amal is working a treat,the grandaughter is my stepsons latest offspring i,ve got more stepgrandkids than ghandi!!as it turned out she was a little smasher just 11 days old and very well behaved,although my 3 year old grandson is the biker but i,m just letting him look round the garage at the moment (not at the nudey calendar though maybe when he,s five !!)my son loved the bike but since my accident i,ve only had bikes with single saddles excluding grunda 12 who had a dual seat for a limited period,atb paul.
