Hi all

I just thought I'd say hello and Season's Greetings to all in Enfield land...since selling the Bullet and acquiring the Guzzi, I have still been monitoring this Forum with interest, amusement and astonishment (as appropriate, and often simultaneously). I haven't been able to get the Bullet out of my mind, but have to say I love the new Guzzi to bits. It has now had its first service (and taking it to the dealers and seeing my old Bullet for sale was a very strange experience - not altogether a good one). The engine (being a Guzzi) is only just starting to loosen up, beginning to get that lovely "racing tractor" feel, with the torque about equivalent to two and a half Bullets. Riding style is still bizarrely similar to the Enfield, in that revving it is useless, but riding the torque is the only way of making rapid progress. I have taken it to several customer sites in the course of "work", and it is so lovely on the motorway - I have to say, so much easier to ride than the Enfield, though lacking that single thump. Having said that, the lovely V-twin rumble is rapidly becoming addictive with every mile - and the service intervals are a revelation to an ex-Enfield owner!!!
Will keep in touch with all you Bulleteers...and you keep a lookout for a looney on a white Guzzi in the London area!

Cheers

Hi Mark

Dearly wish I could afford both...sadly not possible! Mine, being a "new" generation MG has a "small block" engine with Heron heads, so behaves a little differently from Guzzis of old...not that differently though! Surprisingly similar in my ways to the Bullet...

Cheers

Hi TIM G------------ nice to hear from you again !! I just KNEW you'd love that Guzzi...... I still miss my old 1100i California....As you say forget revs, it's all torque... I don't know about the V7 but the older Guzzi g'boxes weren't all that different from the Enfields.... How many neutrals have you found to date ??-------------- Ride safe.

Hi Alan R - good to hear from you too mate...well, most of the neutrals surround first and second, especially when cold. Impossible to tell whether or not you've engaged first! This happens even with the clutch adjusted properly and I'm assured "they all do that sir". Well it wouldn't be a Guzzi without some quirks, now would it?? Box gets better as it gets warm, but even then can't get third without a heartstopping "clunk". Ah the joys of a big twin coupled to a shaft drive.....

Cheers and good riding in 2013!

We have anm El Dorado here with lots of neutrals, contemplating pulling it down after the new year to have a look but maybe that is the way they were

My T3 California is fine in the neutral department but maybe the heel and toe lever helps. I agree clutch cable adjustment is vital though, very Enfield like!

Hi Tim,

I do hope you've joined the Moto Guzzi Club GB (MGCGB) - the superb bi-monthly magazine 'Gambalunga', by itself, is well worth the modest annual Membership cost!

I'll second that, MARTIN C.----------- We were riding across the IoM during centenary week when 7 all-red "Bacon Slicers" passed in a row going the other way !!---- superb sight and sound ....

Hi Norm, have been asking around and don't think the box of an El Dorado shluld be full of neutrals...gotta be something wrong, not just "how they were".

Martin C, not really a "club" person, but may make an exception in this case. Gotta say that the MGB Forum doesn't seem to be a patch on this one...

Cheers
