I am currently insured till the end of the year with Footman James whom I have been very pleased with, except when they charged me £50 for changing my bike to an Efi.I,like many others have been invited,by "Bike Team" to insure with them,as Footman James has finished. They did this by sending me a 13 page dossier to facilitate this!I would appreciate someone offering any information or opinion on this company.many thanks , John H

John, call Peter James Insurance. I switched to them for my classics and my modern bike a few years ago. They have always been consistently cheaper than Footman James and all of the others. Easy to deal with, talk to a real human being who appears to care about you, the customer. Usual disclaimers....I am just a very, very satisfied customer. HTH.

'Tis MadMike again. John, I re-read your posting. Who says Footman James "....has finished"? Their website is still active, and they are still quoting for both classic and modern bikes????????????????? Is somebody trying to have you/us on?

Sounds like something to be avoided at all costs. Any business using tactics such as this to get business are not the ones I would touch with a 15ft barge pole.......I have used Peter James for a few years now and echo MM's comment

hi john h ,last year footman james told me they no longer insured modern bikes ,unless you also had a classic ,me being slow forgot about my 350 bullet h reg over 20 years old hence classic (15 year old termed classic by them ) so they shoved me to bike team a right set of pillocks after a lot of haggling they insured my modified diesel bullet + my 350 ,since then they have charged me £25 to remove the 350 cover and insure my electra project total switch £63 inc the £25 admin cost they didn,t say we,ll pay for your stamp for sending the old cert back either fekin robbers!! i mentioned that i had a no fault claim 2 1/2 years ago and that i had a compensation claim for injuries running and the nosey bastards wanted to know the value of my claim ,i told them in the region of 350 grand they then want me to inform them when i get paid out!! well guess what next year i,ll go compare only they don,t quote modified bikes so someone else will!!with regards to footman james i find them to be a set of c**ts along with all the other highway robbers known as insurance companies¬!!! atb paul.

Attaboy, Paul !!----- tell it how it is,matey !!...This current "craze" amongst Insurance companies who charge an "Admin" fee each time a customer wants to add/subtract a vehicle is, in my opinion, tantamount to a malpractice. By definition, each time they take on a new customer then that so-called admin fee must have been built-in to the first years quote (to set-up all that NEW information they are handling), but not subsequent renewals--as there is no "new" information to be processed or Administered. So therefore the 2nd years premium should now show that "Admin fee" taken out of the equation BEFORE any increases due to inflation, etc. are added on for the new quote............wishful thinking I know but it's all grist to "Rip-off" British culture... They never used to do this--did they ????------------------PS see my new thread about the great MoT charges scandal.

Many thanks for comments for my latest insurance opinions. I have now insured with James Insurance for £114 and they didn't charge me for using my debit card unlike FJ! JohnH
