To be correct, it should read Trafford, but not every one knows of Trafford Park.

Manchester bike show, is being held at "Event City" on 17 & 18 March. Full details at  www.eventcity.co.uk/whats-on/

All three halls will be in use. Many of the motorcycle clubs from around the north west were contacted and have taken stands, so the range and ages of the bikes on display shoud be pretty wide.

I am not sure if the R.E dealer in Manchester will be there.

One club that will be there, is the "Manchester Eagles", the oldest  motorcycle club in the northwest. (it has been going since Feb. 1930)

The stand will be made up of only true classics.

While the club also has members with the most moderm bikes, they will will be on other stands.

I am not sure which day I will be on duty on the stand, I will be the only one on the stand with an Royal Enfield Shirt on. Stop for a chat if you like.

Martin, it sounds like a good event; I'd actually been intending to go with my daughter's boyfriend.  But I'll be in Europe on holiday. It's a hard life....

Met up today at Rivington Top Barn with a couple of the YORKSHIRE riders, as well as some of ours. It was a good day and nice to see them. And I had a steak pudding.

Look forward to seeing you at the next evening meeting.

Best wishes, Chris

Martin I cannot believe that you included the phrase" true classics" in your post. Consider yourself severly chastised us poor buggers with indian enfields break down just as much as dinosaurs so cut us some slack. Just to put this in perspective how do the rules of meritocracy stack up when out of 6 riders that showed at rivi today 4 were on indian enfields  one on a chinese clone diesel and fair play to him one one an earlier model not sure of the heritage but a lovely machine . This is an enfield forum and not a vintage only take it to the show on a trailer coz you cant get it dirty club . We ride and long may we do so . I will raise this as a topic in another post

Noel,

In veiw of your comments, I will be standing in the corner, with my crash hat on backwards....

While some make a great deal about england / India, to me and enfield is an enfield. (Royal or not)

The point that I was trying to make, was not enfield related, only that the bikes on Eagles stand are classics, and not bikes covered in fiberglass etc, From the land of the rising sun etc. calling themselves classics, despite only being 8 to ten years old.

As far I know there will not be any Enfields on the Eagles stand, just a wide range of old bikes. (that many may refer to as classis of there time. )

P.S.

My Enfield (note not a Royal), is an 88 model made in India,

then shipped to the UK and originaly sold by a local dealer "eddies two wheels", on a "G" plate in 89

Hi all and especially Martin . I have to hold my hands up and apologise you caught the flack from one or two other comments I have had lately, one from a chap at Rivi yesterday. Its a pity its not a real enfield was the comment.I and I hope I can say we as a majority want to ride and use our bikes and it naffs me of a bit to say the least when some of the polishers decry our mounts.
