Hi Alan. I don't know what you call cheap but I find it harder and harder to find anywhere less than 50 quid these days. Anyway The Inn on the Moor at Goathland (aka Aidensfield in Haeartbeat) is a biggish place about 15minutes from Whitby by car or bike, with decent sized rooms, and really great food. It's located bang opposite 'Aidensfield Arms' and right behind 'Scripp's Garage'. There's ample parking for bikes and cars. It's also next to the steam railway from Pickering to Grosmont and Whitby. Two drawbacks - a pint costs around £3.80 and the place is run just like Fawlty Towers. Here's the number - 01947 896296.
