Like that - was that a little diesel right at the back giving a helping hand ? - you can see it just before the end of the video.

Some but not all steam excursions have a diesel on the back. Depends on the route, power of the loco up front, etc... A second locomotive banking on the rear of the train was a regular feature on Shap in steam days.

I'm not sure even the Flying Scotsman would handle Shap with that load without a bit of help.
Lovely to hear her working hard though
