Now that we are "allowed" out again I plan to take the Himalayan out for a run.

Good job I checked to see if it would start yesterday as the battery was as flat as the proverbial turd.

Couple of hours on the optimate and it fired up no problem - just tested it again this morning all is well.

Dont plan on any contact with anyone apart from stopping at the filling station.

Just going to have some lunch before I go out..........looking forward to it I can tell you......

I rode 100 miles the day before yesterday, on the 350. Goes great (and I was OK now my stitches have healed). :D

Now, the sun is out,
The sky is blue,
The bike is red and the petrol tank is nearly full,
That doesn't rhyme but my bike boots are going on very soon!

On the other hand I've seen groups of bikers not even SDing.
Play the game lads, SD and only one other.

I live near Manor Farm bikers cafe. There's been a constant stream of bikes many in groups of 5 or 6 heading to the cafe today.

I took my bike there for its MOT in the week and they’ve set up a mobile tea van to get around the cafe closure rules. There was a crowd of bikers all sat together at the tables. Obviously wearing leathers gives immunity from CV19?

No wonder the general public treat us as if we’re all dick heads !!

I usually ride alone, I seldom have a fixed route so no changes for me. I rode eighty miles this afternoon, in the lower Peak District. The only other person I got close to today was the cashier at the petrol station at Dronfield and she was at least two metres away behind her till. They had placed a card payment machine on a table in front of the counter and with contactless payment available it was exactly that. I declined a receipt so neither of us had to touch anything. What with automatic doors to the shop it was dead easy. I now carry a small bottle of hand sanitiser in my jacket pocket and I used some before I put my gloves back on.

I was amazed how many walkers were out, many concentrated in car parks and many vehicles very badly parked along narrow country lanes. I’ve never seen it so busy. But the towns were quiet.

Dai - hopefully your time will come soon.

It was good to get out and about again, it would have been better had it not been for the connstant wind, which was sometimes quite gusty and cool.

Still must not grumble.

Saw quite a few other riders out and about, a few in groups but mainly solos.

As I was riding back through Wells in Somserset it was dissapointing to see half a dozen bikes or so with their riders all sitting / standing together clearly not following the SD rules, as someone said higher up no wonder "bikers" have a bad name - come on guys...........

@Andy.

It's not so bad I had had the bike apart rebuilt it tried to sort the carb but after returning oil was weeping from the head to barrel (again)

I will put up a thread going into more detail

Enjoy yourselves out there Dai

Dai.

Re weeping oil head to barrel, seem to have a similar problem with my 612, not much of a weep but just enough to notice.

I'll be interested in your fix for this - I am running a composite head gasket by the way I have heard that the old fashioned copper gasket might be a solution.

Thanks.
