This subject has cropped up on the forum before so you can probably search out a discussion. Personally I did a fair bit of research before I made my choice when I bought brand new in 2007 and I test rode both variants. I went for the 350 on the basis that it was a bit smoother and general opinion seemed to be the 350 was a bit more durable. Didn't regret it for a minute. If I was looking for one now I would go for either and make my choice based on condition and price, there are plenty of low mileage ones out there. Good luck.

Dai, those figures are a few quid out of date since the last budget. 🏍

My 350 keeps up with the bigger bikes well enough.

Could be worse my Harley has £91 on the reminder, going to SORN it

Not sure on the smaller bikes asbo 30 is 1962 so that's free

These days they don't seem to announce increases, they just keep sneaking them up, little by little, almost every year.

About 5mph.

But what is the difference in pulling power, for instance, taking hills in top gear and carrying a pillion?

I didn't have a 500 for long mind. Never took a pillion on it but 5mph seems about right.

5mph can be a big difference if it's the difference between 45 and 50.
