Is there any truth regarding RE to stop making the 500cc models. Rumours suggest they what to concentrate on the 650 models more

There are few on youtube but they were half English, half Hindi. What i could work out was they are to continue with the 350cc engine for domestic sales but stopping the 500. So not sure if that includes international sales of the 500. Called my local dealer to confirm yes or no but he can not confirm till to the local rep comes in. He did say he hasn't heard any rumours regarding this

It would seem utterly daft to kill the Goose who has laid golden eggs for so many years surely?

The golden egg-laying goose is still the domestic market 350, apparently, so loss of the 500 single wouldn't hurt THEM too much if the ROTW is happy with 650 twins and Himalayans. Perhaps they should have tried to create more of an export market for the 350s, they've been quite popular in Australia, apparently.

Something else that has been mentioned is that while they've re-worked the 350 to get through the next round of emissions regs, it seems to be a lot harder for them to get the 500 through at a sensible price in view of the overall numbers they'd be likely to sell.

Shame if they cut the 500. Where else will you find a new simple 500 thumper on the market?
