I wish we had the choice of gravel or sand here in the UK. A boat would be of more use.
Yesterday I began an oil service on my wife's big Renault van. I couldn't do it the previous day because it was raining most of the day. As I was lying on my back on the driveway, trying to undo the plastic oil filter canister without breaking it (why do garage mechanics over-tighten stuff like this that you have to regularly re-use?) the heavens opened yet again. The forecast "showers" turned out to be continuous rain - over 24 hours later it's still raining and the local roads are like duckponds and streams.
