Thanks so much for that Steve T. I certainly had no idea how useful the 112 service is especially when elsewhere in Europe & having now watched the videos & learned of the 112 text system in poor reception areas I'm registering mine now.
Thanks again, REgards Mick.

Thanks for the information Steve. I didn't know some of this though I understand that the same rules apply to 999 in UK. Anyway, I got registered for the text service- hope I never need it.

I have had a mobile right back to the Motorola mobile brick days (1980's) and have never heard of the 112 facility, so thanks I have registered could save a life one day. The outburst of "I'm easily offended" rubbish I think we can all can do without thanks.

A useful idea that I hadn't known about. Out of interest, I tried it with 999 rather than 112. It worked.

Not sure if that would work abroad, though? As above, Many Thanks, but hope it'll not be needed! -Chris

Some people may already know, others may not.

the information may have errors in it, but already, a few people have replied that they have signed up.

The guy did say 'to maximise your chance of getting through.' he didn't say that you always would get through.

The information was widely advertised 10 years ago, but anybody that is 17-18 now, would only have been 7-8 years old then and probably didn't have a mobile or have a need for the information.

I believe that this video is more useful than un-useful...

Thank you for posting it.

Load safari or google chrome if you have it and open youtube in one of those.

navigate to video, select 'share' select 'embed' then select 'show more'.

select a size of 640 x anything, then copy the line of code above the video pic. It will look similar to...

iframe width="640" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/J-hNe1xBFdM?rel=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen/iframe

(With some brackets around it.) Select Mr H's. forum, make a new post or reply and just paste the line of code in.

you will probably need to go out of the message and return to it in order to see the video.
