In our street today there was 3 National Broadband Network vehicles with six technicians working in the big green boxes and pulling up man hole covers up and down the street. They were here for about 3 hours and my broadband speed has gone from dial up back to ADSL which is an improvement of sorts. Google has come back but the speed is still not fast enough to watch a HD youtube video with out buffering all the time.

I see that Norm has managed to post a message...

Wondering what has happened to the site and if the problem is due to something he said or did? ;-)

Ok yeaterday I tried logging into the Aussie Enfield forum 3 times but could not. When I ran my virus checker later in the day I found 3 virus codes. I deleted them. Just to make sure I tried to log onto the Aussie Enfield forum once more. I could not log on again. I then ran my virus checker and it came up with the same virus code as before, and I deleted it as before. I know for sure now that the Aussie Enfield forum has been hacked. When any body tries to log on, they are strait away infected by this virus that allows access to there computer. The very second that you try to access the Aussie Enfield forum this virus is dumped into your system and the more times that you try to log on the more that the virus is re-enforced with more strings of code.

I thought that my computer was slow and it was and when I became aware of this PUA Trojan from Aussie Enfields I deleted it but the system was still slow and I could not reliably even get Google to run properly so I knew that it had embedded its self deep in my system.I did some pretty radical things with my computer and operating system which is Lynux Ubuntu such as wiping out all my history and clearing all stored data from Firefox, plus deleting all cookies. The problem now is that when I go to web sites they do not know me and I have to log on to every one with my user name the passwords that I use but I am slowly getting around to them all. I have forgotten a lot of them and so I am having a hassle there. The upshot of all this is that all the virus has gone from my system and my speed has come back to me. I am really flying now and Google is no problem either. If you have tried to log on to Aussie Enfields and your computer is slow and playing up run your virus checker and see what you can find. You may have to do what I had to do and manually go through your computer checking and dumping repositories that this virus may be hiding in. I think that Microsoft has a feature where you can type into a search box whatever it is that you want to find in your system and it will tell you where it all is and at least you would know where to look.

Norm had been asking questions on the Aussie Enfield site about what was wrong/going on??? No answers...

Who ever has taken control of the site has now made him an 'ex-member' and most of his recent posts questioning the situation have now been deleted.

Caution: DONT visit the Aussie Enfield site!!!

You need to ask Charlie...

But be aware that it may not be 'Charlie' that you may end up communicating with?

(My private emails to him have all bounced)

If they can not keep there Aussie Enfield forum clean of viruses then they are not worth communicating with. It should be completely shut down and then started up again with a clean operating system, and proper anti virus control. It is just stupid to keep trying to limp along with it the way it is now. There will be nobody on there eventually.
