I can only apologise to those of you who had a poor reception. I can assure you it ain't like that now, and in theory it never was as the Club has never had a "no Indian bikes" policy. it's a shame how one badly behaving individual can spoil the perception of a club. Obviously I don't know who that was! At our recent Home Counties Rally the mix of bikes was nearly 50/50 with Redditch machines in slight majority and several of the Indian Enfields there belonged to members who are also Branch Secretaries or Club officials so they ride what they preach! Now would be a good time to join as we have a 40th anniversary of the modern REOC coming up next year with some big events planned. Any potential new member who wants to show up to a Home Counties Club night on an Indian Enfield can have a drink on me!

Unfortunately it's the way with many clubs/organisations, the idea is good but often spoilt by a few individuals/jobs worth's, I help organise and marshal at VMCC Scarborough touring week, and we always welcome all members from around the country and indeed the world, but no matter how hard you try you can't please everyone.

Thanks mark. I have downloaded the application. The REOC site shows the nearest branch to be The Three Merry Lads near Chesterfield, meeting last tuesday each month. is this info current?

Bryan, yes it is. Don Raybould has been running the branch for many years and is thinking of stepping down but two young (I'm sure they'll appreciate being called young!) lads of my acquaintance are thinking of taking over.
