Hi there guys----------looking at the title of this thread can we call it a "one-all" and move on ?? Let's agree to disagree, eh ?? Besides, if you continue the theme of my earlier posting and have a look at the General Post Office's charges in relation to the average wage etc. of the day I bet you'll find that the % relationship was about the same then as it is now----remembering that in those days it (the GPO) was a nationalised, Government body with a Crown Minister in the House ( Chris Chataway was one I believe) and enjoyed susbsidies to keep it going. Not trying to score political points but just observing that although the actual numbers are larger than in those days it's the "affordability" that matters. >>>>>>>>>I was about to say "That's my 10 pence worth------------" but the price just went up !!!
