papasmurf - Sorry, I seem to have rattled your cage somehow and I was only trying to be helpful. Adrian had already given you a link 6 posts above so I didn't think I had to include the same link twice. PS I do know how to use a forum and the rules I abide by are 1) be nice 2) thank people who are trying to help and 3) read all the posts before I sound off!

Nigel, You can't please them all unfortunately, which is the reason I rarely bother on here. if only everyone would follow your three rules the internet would be a better place. Great article and well written too, it almost had me thinking about getting an Indian as a companion to my Brit.

Rattlebattle, sorry you regret posting the message. If there isn't a link, then I just gooogle it. Easy: if it's there, I read it.

I hope people will continue to put interesting notes on here. It will certainly be of interest to some of the people, some of the time!

Thank you from me. atb, Chris

Jefrs - the C5 EFI review is in the latest issue (December 2015) of Real Classic, out this week. However, it isn't on the website yet - not sure if Rowena will be putting it on there at a later stage. If you would like me to send you a pdf version of the article please txt your email address to 07854234471. Very nice bike Nigel :)

I think I have the same RE leather panniers in black. Hydrophane really does waterproof leather :)

I don't have the pannier scorcher silencer, nor that pillion seat. Is it comfortable? To be honest, it looks like a torture device ;) Wife complains the stock pillion is not wide enough even though it is wider than the Bullet dual seat. I do find the stock solo seat to be very comfortable, I have dropped its rear by removing the springs for brackets, not only to lower it but to make it firmer, no padding wanted. Those rear suspension units are really rather good.

I could not get the panniers to hang nicely on the mudguard frame. I think the various advertisement publicity shots must have used sticky back plastic to hold them looking nice and square. I adapted the "Electra" small pannier frames, they do fit with a bit of bodging but only to the C5 stock pillion frame seat (an extra) which is similar to the Bullet dual seat grab rail but about 1cm further aft.
