The Henry Cole Motorbike Show with the Triumph speed record attempt is being shown currently. It's on one of the Freeview channels (on Sunday mornings I think) and probably repeated at other times as well. The episode from last weekend showed the exhaust being made so there's still a bit left of the story to come.

So... did anyone see this last night then? I watched the first 45 mins or so and will see the rest tonight (too many babies in the house means it is early nights for Michael!). I enjoyed it and I chuckled when the Indian biker club turned up to help Guy buy an Enfield - they helped him avoid the unreliable models... apparently. I chuckled even more when they tried to start up an Electra on the electric start... I suspect you all know what happened! Norm would anyway :)

I also liked the Bullet 500 he ended up buying. UCE engine with, I think, carburretor instead of EFI (as was normal on Indian home market Enfields/still is normal?). I also loved how it was stripped for carriage in 5 minutes and the reason for buying an Enfield for an Indian is that there is a person who can fix an Enfield EVERYWHERE... Am looking forward to the next instalment...

I loved the lorry park bit, and the lady fitting tyres on "split" rims and inflating them without using a safety cage.
Here in Britain where there still are a few split rims in use "Elfin & Safety" would blow a gasket if they saw someone inflating a tyre on a split rim without the wheel being inside a safety cage.

I thought it was superb! Everything I expected it to be.

I'm particularly looking forward to next weeks episode, when he goes to Goa. I bought my 500 Bullet from Saini Motors in Margao, Goa, whilst there on holiday in 2004.

I won't even bore you with the hassle and stress I went through to get it shipped home and through the SVA test over here! My bike also arrived wrapped in straw-filled hessian sacks, inside a timber crate!
