Norm. Here in Denmark, we don't have tax discs or any other form of visible registration on any vehicle apart from the number plate. All this is available to the police on the Police national computer which is available to them. Tax, registration, vehicle owner, et al. If the boss tells you to "take the truck" and he hasn't registered it, or insured it, he's still responsible as the owner. Not you.

I don't know how it works in Oz, but it's all pretty well buttoned up here.

Hi Exile, problem with an unregistered vehicle you would have to try and sue the owner but as it is unregistered he is legally no longer the registered owner so a smart lawer could argue this on these grounds but at the end of the day you were driving and that puts you at the front of the firing line.Besides it is also a $700 fine for driving an unregistered vehicle and that is the drivers resposibility to make sure the vehicle is registered. I'm glad I'm too old to be worried about driving company vehicles, only my own
