MoT testing regs & registration requirements can be found in more detail here www.motuk.co.uk/mcmanual_630.htm which should explain everything, especially to such an outspoken character as grunda12.. Maybe you & I ought to have a chat down a quiet lane, mate. I was a 'pig' for many years and I detest people who gob off.

hi stringers best mate ,i thank you for your honesty i don,t have a problem with ex police officers i just find that taxing the easy target for speeding and miner offences when there are real criminals at large a bit distasteful i think that maybe real police work and as i,m paying my taxes for the police i feel it is my right to gob off as you say atb paul

Paying your taxes doesn't give you the right to be abusive on a public forum, whoever the target your views are aimed at. I read these postings because I'm a motorcycle enthusiast, not to read your abusive diatribe and opinions, and you haven't even the common courtesy to apologise to those who you offend. I accept your right to a viewpoint that may differ to others, but I don't accept your written abuse. Play nicely on here or be complained about.

There seems to be a bit of "Illegal" Hijacking going on here chaps----------Score so far appears to be "one all" so can we now keep to the subject matter ???

sorry alan for the hijack and sorry to sbm my abuse and diatribe was based on personal experiences at the hands of the law over the years being a motorcycle rider and as i say i happen to have a good friend who frequents this site from time to time who is an ex copper who was treat very badly by superiors while a serving officer nuff said paul.

Just to add my 20 forints worth (that's Hungarian money) I too have had to cough up for not displaying the correct size and colour number plate, and agree that the police should be concentrating on real crime, instead of penalising those that aren't causing any harm to others... possibly not the best place to discuss it but the way our kids have been treated by local police is disgusting. I'm not a fan! Rant over.

Alan, are you going for the alloy top yoke and separate headlight?, post some pics when its done. Pre 1963 numbers are expensive and start around £500 but suffix ones are less, although the better looking six digit ones are still dear.Best to avoid numbers that resemble someones initials. I think the transfer fee is £80 but as previously mentioned, you need a yellow and black for the MOT.

Hi guys-- CHRIS TINDAL, indeed I am !!.. I'm trying for the mid 1950s'... Suez Canal period as Enfields had just introduced the swing arm then..Have a look at pages 196/7 where our hosts' 1950's BULLET is shown...Imagine that in full Desert Sand colour, the pillion seat will be replaced by a square rack with a simulated field radio telephone(similar to the Police models of the day---Heartbeat on TV ??) with short whip aerial, Army panniers of course with one side modified to carry a 15ltr jerry can, whilst the other has a removable steel box.. A pair of tan leather bags on both outsides.. The front and rear mudguards are from 350cc machines to give both a 1950's PLUS a 350 look (It's actually a 500 !) as it seems the majority of Despatch bikes were 350s'...The various War Dept.reg.Nos. and Regimental Badges, tyre pressures etc should see it looking the part ???Later, when the current road tyres need changing then a pair of Ensign Block Trials ones will help enhance the image I think ??... I must add that this is a pure flight-of-fancy on my part as to the best of my knowledge, the British Army of the day didn't use these bikes at all.....Just a bit of fun really....

Hi guys---------- I've decided to have the yellow plate permanently attached with a "Black & Silver" one that can be slipped over it for "on-show" situations ie Not when on the Queen's Highway !!.... Have any of you some suggestions as to the make-up of this No. ??
