As Royal Enfields motto was "Made like a gun, goes like a bullet" I thought it rather appropriate to do a photo by one of the cannon at Gettsyburg battlefield

Hello Riggers----HONK_HONK.  Yeah---that's a proper Bullet.   Goes like a gun---looks like a gun too !!  Where can I get a silencer like that ? Mine's the old Torpedo wannabe job and just looks so stupid stuck out the back .   And also from me }----- how do you load photos on the forum then??  I'm no computer geek so plain & simple please ( Joyce says---"Just like you, Alan" ). Plus--SNAP !! I've also put all my electrics in the L/H tool box & slipped an airline hose over the full length of the HT cable. So now everything is fully waterproof. Ahh--peace of mind as those storm clouds approach.

Sorry Riggers-----got yours and Beezabryan's bikes mixed  up.  Yours is very nice too-- honestly. Hi Paul MH ---- wow! What a looker---- love the lining--- bet that's a treat to see & hear on the move??  A previous girlfriend once said my bike was "pretty"--oh gawd!! How my mates took the P--- for weeks after. But at least it wasn't a Bullet. Yes, really, there was a time when Alan R didn't own an Enfield.  In those heady, far-off days of youth I was living in " The Twilight Zone "------ I bet you all did the opening tune to that, didn't you ?? If I seem more daft than usual it's because after 4 months of work in the cold, a broken fin, numerous carb setting variations / a new piston, varying types of air filters etc, etc , etc  & 2 visits to nirvana( Mr H's), I managed to get a quickie test run of 40 miles approx and alls well. Probally won't be tomorrow though.   But it's my first run this year HOOOO--RRaaayyyyyyyyyyy !!!  OK    Bye then

Hi Alan - I don't know where you could get a silencer like the one in the pic. I bought it about 5 years ago from RM Motorcycles in Beverley (I live in Hull). I've never seen another one exactly like it, but if you were interested I could ask RM if they are still availalble.

The pic is on a free site called 'Photobucket'.  It's not our host's site but one anyone can use. You can upload your pictures from your PC and let the world see them.  Google 'Photobucket' and see how you get on!

Cheers mate.

A bit confucious as you say but if this is the pipe & "silencer" in question I got it in 1998 from Alan Hitchcock at Kempton when he was still doing autojumbles.

Have a look at

EXHAUST SYSTEM 1950

Image

This system is a copy of the mid-1950's exhaust fitted to the Royal Enfields. In the kit is the exhaust pipe, silencer and heavy-duty silencer clip. All parts are made in England. It will give enhanced performance along with a 1950's sound. All parts can be sold individually, but this short silencer will not fit on to the standard pipe fitted to the newer Royal Enfields.

The silencer has a removable baffle which can be modified by the owner to give the desired compromise between noise and performance.

Note: This system is NOT suitable for Redditch built Bullets, Thunderbird or EFI models.

Hi guys---------- yes, sorry about the confusion, my fault entirely. Either of those types will do. Are they straight-through with baffles ? Not too noisey ??  Thanks
