Hey Paul - did you know that Bon Scott died about a mile from my house at Overhill Road, South London... I was 13 when that Highway To Hell album came out and I asked my sister to get it for me for xmas that year, 1979. Needless to say it all went down hill from there... Motorhead, Black Sabbath, even followed some of the NWOBHM bands for a while (mostly Angel Witch) - happy days! Now I'm more into anything Punk or trashy R'n'R like New York Dolls, Ramones, Lazy Cowgirls, etc. Having said that the last tape I listened to in my shed was Faith No More. Yes I still got cassettes!

I just can't do with music of any sort if I'm trying to concentrate and/or problem solve. Strangely though I find someone talking in the background actually helps me to think. So in the Royal Enfield Infirmary it's Radio 4. However, if it's just polishing on a summer afternoon then it's Steve Wright and his 'know all mates'.

All my radios are more or less seized on Radio 4. The only exception to this is when painting (house, not bike) when nothing will do but Radio 1.

I've managed to put a good variation of music on discs from a load of non to common 60s and 70s stuff and I really enjoy. A mate of mine once said he could download anything so I gave him a list of stuff that I like or just means something special in some way or another to me and he finished up putting together 15 CDs, each one carrying on average 20 songs ...brilliant. I've also got a selection of Discs featuring Deep Purple, Staus Quo, AC DC, and one or two other heavy metal bands. However I also like certain non too well known artists like Tony Joe White. Ray Wiley Hubbard. Guy Clark and Harvey Andrews. There's nowt like a good bit of music when you're engrossed in a project.... but don't mention the bloody Enfield!!!
