jaffa90 i too used to have a Fazer Thou- and two 600s.What a great bike they are too.I sold mine because i was going up a long straight hill once following a mate and happened to look down at the speedo to see i was somewhat over the limit!!I decided this sort of behaviour could only lead to trouble so i now ride amongst others a Bullet Electra which is not quite as quick (or as reliable!)as a Fazer Thou but fun in other ways.

Robin,wardrobes are for the wife,i can manage with a toothbrush,
AlanR,it`s a Mikcarb with a thumb push lever and a thumb push plunger (rocker),it`s a free/er flow silencer and a metal mesh conical air filter i can see through,the spark plug shows a slightly rich mixture but as you all know it`s better than a weak mixture.
Q,to you crazy lads/lasses? The tyres are the original midas 3.25x19/3.50x19,what tyre pressures do you have for a 16stone lightweight rider only?
Also why do i/us have to sign in more than once a day? (crazy)

Worry not, I swapped a Triumph Speed Triple for my Bullet 500 - yes, mental, but in a good way I like to think. Leastways I have never regretted it...welcome to the mob!

I say you're not mental in the slightest, the Fazer is a dull boring reliable predictable plank of a machine ignored by all and sundry as 'oh, it's one o' them bike things', I guarantee you'll make more 'on spec' friends riding an enfield any day of the week.

Re starting, (when mine isn't in bits on the table in the conservatory, ahem), from cold, TDC, decomp in, push over TDC, ignition on, fuel on, choke on, long swift kick.
From warm or hot, TDC, decomp in, push over TDC, ignition on fuel on, firm prod.

All are slightly different and you'll find your technique quickly.

I don't think the Fazer can be decribed as boring?It just doesn't have as much character as the Enfields do....

Lots of good helpful advice over here BTW, you won't go far wrong, i've had plenty of help advice and tips myself in my (currently) short enfield ownership period.
Great bikes with stacks of character.

Martin, I wasn't slighting the ability of the Fazer, they're a great bike, just a bit too everyday bandit-esque blah 'nother bike' A fell aup the road from me has a 600 and loves it, it's got more moneys worth of carbon on it than the bikes worth and it makes him happy, he laughs at my bullet and wonders why I have something like that as well as the ZXR and a Ducati, thinks i'm mad.
