Hi

After 7 months of work my Continental GT has been rebuilt after being written off whilst it was parked!

Took it for a short spin today - only problem was a leak in the petrol feed that just required a turn of the spanner to fix.

Only possible issue is that the silencer is even louder than the Gold Star item it replaced.

I know you all have seen a Continental before, but I just wanted to say thanks to Hitchcocks for supplying all the parts, and the guys on the Yahoo Crusader Technical Group who have had to put up with all my novice questions and requests for advice during the rebuild.

Lovely! ALL you needed to do was to take the plastic bag off the seat before you photographed it and it would be perfect.

I could pretend that it is a piece of irony to illustrate that recycling (it’s a council recycling bag) is de rigueur in a post modern world and demonstrates that by rescuing this bike from the tip it has saved the planet at least xx tonnes of CO2. But modesty forbids, and I will resist the temptation.
A more prosaic reason is that it has got a new seat cover which I’m trying to protect from my grubby paws whilst fettling the bike. I promise I will remove the bag in any future photos. Regards OB
