Hi everybody from Tasmania Australia
I have a 2018 Black Stealth Classic 500 my problem is that the engine light stays on permanently
No lack in power and it goes well. I did a check on the MIL and i get 5long and 4 short this code is not listed
Has anybody else had this problem and how did they fix it

This will probably be of no help, but as an old telegraphist used to the morse code, five long and four short means "zero" and "H".

I’ve recently seen that MIL code on a home market forum originally posted about 5yrs ago. Unfortunately there was no follow up on what the Code was or how it was ever solved.

Hi Pete, if the Mil light is flashing with a code not listed, I expect it means an error has been picked up on a sensor which was not present when the original service manual was produced and which everyone uses as their reference as there has not been a updated version distributed. On a 2018 Euro 4 model, the additional sensors would be for the air injection system (check the plug going into the solenoid above the cylinder head towards the front) and the air temperature sensor (located on the back side of the air box). It may just be worth doing a quick check in these two areas that the connectors are securely fastened and have not been disturbed/disconnected at some point.

Hi Pete 2018 model I would be taking it back to dealer if they are any good , some in aus are bloody useless would not take a victa to them.

Hi all heres an update on my engine light problem
I contacted Royal Enfield re my problem and eventually a guru from the mainland came down to Tas with his box of tricks and hey-presto bike is fixed
Turned out to be part of the emission control that was at fault they replaced a valve just under the fuel tank that had a couple of pipes going to it
Thats what i got from the local service agent so all is fixed and the bike is going strong
