Hi All, a little bit of history was made today when Ian Henshaw rode his Pre 1962 350 Clipper racer to an overall 2nd place with the disc braked and faired 350 Specials also running in the same event and a very strong win in class. He also broke the pre 62 350 lap record on his third lap, then broke his own newly set record with a faster time on lap 4! The previous record was set in 2009 by Tim Jackson on an AJS 7R. Many Congrats .. keep it up the good work. i like the bike .. what sort of electronics you are running magneto or distributor ( points ) . ?

Brilliant Paul! You need to get on the roof of that van for a better camera position next time! Is that the bike with the Big Head fitted?

Hi enfield-trials and Mark and thanks, both. There is a crank mounted electronic ignition, firing a single plug with a rev limiter set to 9,500 rpm [peak power is at 8,500 rpm]. Yes, Merk, this is the 350 short stroke with a Big Head fitted, it uses the Hitchcocks performance valves, with slight modifications to lighten them a little and some rockers I cobbled together from the type found in the twins. the big end tightened up on the cooling down lap after that record breaking race, so the old long stroke, short rod engine is being prepped to go back in to finish the season off, as this machine is currently leading the championship.
