Hi I have had an Aldi one in aust for a few years comes in two parts cant fault it, no need for straps very strong magnets have to gently put them on the tank so the gont bang. Will stay attached at 110kph with both bags full like the clear plastic top great for maps or navman, cost about $45Australian be about £23uk dont know if hosts one is similar.

I have got one of these tank bags, I bought it as a 'second' from the shop as the screen printed Royal Enfield logo was a bit poor. It has been a really good piece of kit for 10 years or so. The magnets alone will keep it in place when it is in it's contracted state but when extended you might need a bungy over the top although if it's behind a screen it'll probably be ok. I use it on my Interceptor as it has a small (2.5 gal) tank and it fits well. Works on larger tanks too like that on my BMW RT. The map pocket on top is good but sadly just too small at the narrow end for a panel of an OS map although you can squeeze one in. Zips are good, materials good. I have rarely used the carry strap but that is sturdy as well. It comes with a small stiffener to keep the base flat but this is removable and of no real use when on the tank.

Our hosts tank bank is the only one I could find that will fit my Electra X (ish.) All the others I have are too big or too wide.

I've got badges on my Mk1 Interceptor and the magnetic flaps are wide enough to fit over them and still be secure.

Hi Guys-------just a word to the wise re}--magnetic tank bags in general............Beware of any fine steel swarf......I accidentally dropped my tank bag whilst in a public car park a few years ago..........I replaced it and went home...Upon removing the flaps that contain the magnets I was greeted with 4 lovely score marks in the paintwork !!........After that I used a piece of fine cloth over the tank first in the same way a Horse's saddle rests on a piece of cloth....

I used a microfibre cloth under my magnetic map bag when I did a combined LEJOG and NC500 trip, which whilst leaving the tank unblemished also left every photo with a bright yellow horizontal stripe on the tank. If I do it again I’ll either use a dark coloured cloth or remove the map bag before taking any photos!
