No Coffee Pot Day this year but 2 events next weekend. Saturday the 2nd is the Yardley Gobion Festival of Transport which takes p[lace on the Coffee Pot field next to the pub at High Street Yardley Gobion NN12 7TN from midday although folk seem to turn up from about 10. Informal day, no entry fee, local charities benefit. Good crowd and always interesting vehicles. The field is only a couple of miles from the Super Sausage Cafe on the A5. Then on Sunday 3rd is Classic Stony, an old bike and car event which takes over the whole of Stony Stratford. Free entry, town businesses open as usual (cafes pubs etc,) and again, collection for local charities. This year there is the added attraction of a Lancaster flypast at about 3.30! Centre of attraction is Market Square MK11 1BE with cars pre-book only but bikes get free entry on the day and can park up in their own area. WARNING! There are currently major road works on the A5 Stony Stratford roundabout which is where the road south from Towcester turns into dual carriageway as it meets the A508 and A421 and the Stony Stratford northern approach (the old A5). We have been advised that there will be lane restrictions over the weekend which will make the roundabout very busy but I think bikes will get through ok. As this is the approach to Stony from the north, expect delays. Alternatively enter Stony from the south using the old A5 up through Milton Keynes which is called Watling Street (or the V4 in Mk speak). Hope to see some of you at one or both!
