Thanks for the direct links to my videos, once again, papasmurf. Perhaps I shouldn't joke about it, seeing as how I nearly met my demise in a similar manner not long ago, but I sometimes feel a burning rag might be the best way to start some of the machines available from China these days. Once burning well, simply walk away ...

Nicely contrasting pair of videos, Paul. You’ve clearly removed a lot of noise/vibration.
But it sounds to be misfiring a bit above ~40-50mph isn’t it (hard to tell because the speedo needs fixing)? Condensor or just camera stutter?
Its so cool to track your route so clearly on google earth. For me in Cape Town, and missing home, your ride route looks great!

Hi Chris, glad you like the videos. If you could feel the horrible grating through the footrests as I obviously could, you would appreciate how bad it really was, it was a different bike after sorting a few simple issues - no engine rebuild required! My 'test route' is usually long enough for most jobs and not too far fom home at any time if I should have to call for the van, or push a bike home! There was no misfiring, it is all down to the camera and the way it picks up sound. Incidentally, it can pick up 'pinking' sounds which cannot be heard by the naked ear. Regards, Paul.

Thanks Paul. Good to travel those roads again! Almost as good as MID-Wales! (But don't tell anyone about those or others may decide to go there.) I’m a bit worried by some of your lines – not quite according to the ‘Police Road Craft’ book I soaked up in my teens! ;-)
