If you like the poem, do remeber that there is a lot of RE fiction and non fiction on my

Scaly's RE poetry page.

There is other old rubbish to read too!

I spoke to one of the staff at the NEC and was assured that the UK Himalayans would be in Dealers showrooms by March / April 2017 and would be approx £3800.00 depending on the exchange rate. There is no doubt they will be coming in with all the rest of the range with fuel injection and ABS brakes as far as I was told.

From cooperb,

ATTENTION - Anyone interested in the new Royal Enfield Himalayan please note - We have just had news that the ENTIRE first batch of UK bikes are now SOLD OUT. Initially Press & Demo fleet will exhaust this batch & the second batch will be reserved ONLY for those customers who have reserved bikes with a deposit. Our first UK Himalayan Adventure trip to Snowdonia was in the planning stages for JUNE. This will now be postphoned as the bikes I wanted to use as hire bikes will have to be sold to customers instead. If you want one £100 will reserve one. Otherwise more bikes will be along later in the year..

Yes, and what about good old TrevorCH and the guy who was skipper of a boat on Ullswater who had a 612? I miss them all!
P.S. Off piste, but fitted free flow silencer and pipe to my Classic Electra EFI this afternoon. Bloomin' great. Sounds like I'm on a Goldie, and feels better all round. Apologies for the hijack

Norm has had a guts full of shoddy Indian made bikes/parts and would not give you tuppence for one.

He still occasionally posts on the Aussie Enfield site where any references to Indian made bikes/parts are disparaging or worse.

Not always the case, Nigel. My Electra-X was a pleasurable enough introduction to Indian enfieldry, but unfortunately, and despite the factory's attempts to improve the design and boost quality control, Norm still ended up with what seems to have been a total lemon of a bike. I think he owns an Interceptor, so he's been used to something better with the Royal Enfield name on it. And anyone who has had an Electra-X go bang (cam follower), bang crunch (sprag clutch) or knock knock knock knock knock knock (go on, guess) will have their confidence dented. I think Norm's confidence in Chennai's best wasn't merely dented, but it did the psychological equivalent of throwing a rod through the crankcases, which I gather is about the only thing his Electra DIDN'T do.

Tim, please will you send him our regards next time you share a forum? Thank you.
