Sunshine, to fit a sidecar to a CX500 custom does not require a sub-frame.
A fitting kit has a front lower fitting that bolts to the front of the engine, a front upper fitting that slides through a hole underneath the petrol tank just behind the headstock, rear lower fitting that replaces one of the foot rests, slides across under the bike and is held on by the other foot rest, the rear upper fitting is just a clamp which fit around one of the frame tubes.
I council against trying to even attempt to make the fitting kit yourself.

in the garage is a 2015 Enfield Classic in cream and red, a 2004 Bonnevile 790 in silver and orange and a 2004 Honda ANF125 Innova for nipping to the shops or work if I want economy (122mpg). and a Peugeot 206sw dog carrier, and the Mrs drives a Hyundai Tucson which pulls the caravan quite well.

Bertie of course, he is a 2004 500 classic 4 speed right foot change, a Honda NC700DCT 6 speed auto (such a contrast to Bertie) and being very interested in electric transport I intend owning a Zero electric bike as soon as they solve the 30 mile range you currently get, had a go on one a couple of years ago and was fantastic.
