Hi again, I'm after some information that one of you out there may be able to help me with, is it possible for someone with a model G to measure the distance on the rear hub between the back of the brake drum and the spoke flange please, I am the going to turn down a Bullet hub to the correct dimensions for my Model G. This rear hub affair is a real problem for me !!!!

Hi Mark, if you have a look in the club library for magazine No. 99 Page 11 you can read about my bullet rebuild of a few years ago. This bike achieved both a 1st and 2nd best in show at Stafford, it then went on to win a further 32 awards at various shows across the country. This is why I feel confident in tackling some machining on a hub.

Mac, I'm not questioning your abilities in the workshop, I'm only trying to help! I have just been through the rebuild of a similar hub (and I've done quite a few others,) and I have seen how much the distance between the back of the sprocket and the spoke flange on the hub can vary because of the potential of the rubbers in the cush drive to compress. That's why I'm saying don't use that alone as a measurement for the overall width of the finished assembly.
