Was reminded today how lethal gasoline is whilst taking off a bank
of 4 carbs several times from my Kawa gpz1000, and pissing fuel every
where near a relatively safe LED lamp. Years ago was doing hasty repairs
with a Rover SDI fuel pump with car barely jacked up a foot or so. fuel
leaking onto usual bulb leadlamp which imploded. Trying to put out the
inevitable fire in panic with bare hands.still scarred. Luckily at a
friend's commercial garage had ample extinguishers. In another context,
was reading half a hour ago of the demise of the Japanese aircraft carrier
'Taiho" in central Pacific whose aviation fuel tanks were damaged, the
fumes spread through the entire ship, and one spark it was a blazing
crippled inferno. Glad you brought up the theme as my extinguishers
pressure is way down, hence useless, and will buy another real soon
